Most scars heal very well if the incisions are sutured with proper technique and using good suture material.
Some people don’t heal as well as others and sometimes the stretching of the surgery results in un-acceptable scars. Patients must be educated that most scars can be revised and made to look better. Our doctors will inspect your incision over several months to make sure that no intervention may be needed. If the incisions are not healing well, certain injections, lasers and or silicone (liquid or sheets) can be used to make scars heal better.
Eight months after surgery, we may advise our patients to undergo a scar revision if the scar is not acceptable to his standards or to his patients.
